Our Story

About Us

Watch Me Rise was founded in 2016 by Gareth Kropman and Daniel van der Merwe.

After they decided to branch away from their long time career in IT and focus on a more worthwhile cause, to help people fulfill their truest potential and to not only live their full length of life but live the width of it as well.

Although this movement has existed for many years as merely a concept within their mind’s eye, filling spare time here and there, they are now ready to concentrate on this vision.

Into developing a platform that utilizes their joy and passion of helping, leading, and motivating others into a global movement to help raise awareness around mental health and developing the best version of oneself.

Run for a cause

DJ Run

DJ Run is our annual running event. It is part of our campaign to create awareness of the importance of mental health and suicide prevention.

As of 2020 we are now hosting the run as a virtual event. To allow as many people as possible to participate while still adhering to COVID-19 restrictions.

Tools to rise

Blogs

At the heart of watch me rise is our passion for people. That is why we plan on regularly releasing blogs on various topics, giving anyone the tools they need to rise.

These blogs are in no way comprehensive, we will keep adding more over time. We, therefore, ask you as readers to please let us know what content you would like to see. So that we can prioritize those topics.

Get Involved

If you would like to get involved or support a worthwhile cause. We have two ways that you could.

One, is our annual event, “DJ Run”. Which is a virtual run (Even though it is a run, any form of exercise is allowed) to help spread awareness of the importance of mental health and suicide prevention.

The second is donating to our fundraising campaign for SADAG (The South African Depression and Anxiety Group). They do amazing work and have supported so many people in South Africa.
